Ants are interesting like art is interesting

Amazon

I woke this morning with "the headache" as my great great grandmother once called this in her journal. Along with it was a fading memory of a dream which left me with the word MONOLITH. Need I tell you that this led me on a quest to find on Google where this word would lead me?
To TED eventually where I watched Karen Armstrong talk about compassion and the "Golden Rule." After that I checked the list of books recommended to read for 2014 in preparation of the  conference. I am thinking about what I am painting and about monolithic meanings. The phone rings and I answer it and then take off my glasses. I put the phone away and glanced back at the screen and clicked on this book you see to the left. I thought it was talking about ART not ants. The interesting thing about it is that it applies in principal to what I am contemplating regarding
networking with other artists and motivation of our community to support a project I have wanted to do for years. You know that I taught little children "art" for a few years trying to make a difference. My idea was to expose them to experiencing many different mediums, for instance, pastels and watercolor, and paper folding and paper-making, and architecture and drama, and music, etc. What I wanted to do and still want to do is to have a kinetic sculpture parade. Ambitious, I know it is. But, with many people working together, like ants do, we could do this. Science and art is always in my mind. I wouldn't care if a child pulled a wooden toy with wheels on it that he/she receieved for a present as long as it moves and they pull it. It would be great for the adults to mentor a child and put this together for an event planned a year in advance.

I have no idea how I got to this point with a headache but I am certainly pleased that I did. I bought the book by the way for Kindle which I will be reading on this snowy day and thinking how to use this information to make humans act like ants to get something wonderful done.
